Kourosh Mohammadi, M.D.
Kourosh Mohammadi, M.D., is a Comprehensive Ophthalmologist experienced in the diagnosis and treatment of eye disease. He is particularly interested in cataracts, glaucoma, refractive surgery and facial cosmetics.
After growing up in Los Angeles, Dr. Mohammadi graduated with Honors from Duke University. He majored in Public Policy Studies with a concentration in Healthcare Public Policy. While in medical school, he completed a one-year NIH glaucoma research fellowship at the Hamilton Glaucoma Center. He received his medical degree with Honors from the University of California at San Diego School of Medicine.
Dr. Mohammadi interned in medicine and general surgery at Boston University and completed his residency in Ophthalmology at the University of California at San Diego's Department of Ophthalmology. His training included a vast exposure to all sub-specialties of ophthalmology including corneal and external disease, retina, glaucoma, neuro-ophthalmology and oculoplastic surgery. Dr. Mohammadi is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and a Member of the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery.
Dr. Mohammadi prides himself on being a caring doctor, always placing his patients' interest first, and dedicating all his resources to providing patients with the best in surgical and medical eye care. He enjoys taking care of patients from all backgrounds. He speaks English, Farsi, Spanish and Turkish.
Dr. Mohammadi lives in La Jolla and plays various sports. He participates in numerous activities such as kite-surfing, running, swimming, tennis, Latin dancing, basketball, and meditation.
