There are important questions to ask when choosing a Laser Vision Correction surgeon. The following is a list of questions you should ask your surgeon at the LASIK consultation.
How long have you been performing laser vision correction?
The physicians at Morris Eye Group have been performing Laser Vision Correction since 1994.
How many refractive procedures have you performed?
Over the years, the physicians at Morris Eye Group have performed thousands of Lasik and PRK procedures, with a very low complication rate (less than 1%).
What tests will be performed prior to surgery?
At Morris Eye Group we take all necessary measures to make sure someone is a great candidate prior to performing any kind of surgery on them. The tests we use are: auto refraction, full refraction, a topographical map of the cornea, pachymetry, visual acuity, WaveScan, dilated exam, and a cycloplegic refraction.
What is the surgeon’s complication rate?
At Morris Eye Group there is a less than 1% chance of having a complication occur. Unlike many LASIK- only centers, we have the luxury of time to be able to evaluate if someone really is a good candidate for the procedure. In addition, we offer other vision options such as glasses and contact lenses so we do not have a financial incentive to only perform LASIK surgery. We only perform surgery on people our physicians would deem great candidates.
Will I meet my LASIK surgeon prior to the day of surgery?
Yes! The patient has a day of testing where they will get to meet their surgeon and ask any questions they may have. The surgeon the patient meets on this day is the same surgeon that will be performing the surgery.
